Marina officials and Ambassador Park visited two shipyards, the Josefa Slipways Inc. ![]() The application period for the shipping firms to avail of Phase 1 of the project offered by BUEA, particularly the conceptual design including general arrangement, outline specification, main equipment list and indicated ship price (P/I), is scheduled until February 15, 2023. Korean Ambassador Hyoung Kyu Park said their project with Marina will enhance the development of the maritime sector, particularly in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry, as well as the country’s domestic shipping industry. Marina and BUEA agreed to grow and boost the trade and business ties between the Philippines and South Korea in shipbuilding and maritime business during the Korea-Philippines Ship Technology Development Cooperation Forum in November. SRS director Ramon Hernandez said Marina and Busan Marine Engineering Association (BUEA) had implemented the Integrated Ship Construction Support System Project, a fruit of the cooperation agreement both sides signed in November 2022. Marina partnered with the French embassy to assist it in the assessment and effective implementation of the Maritime Industry Development Plan. On November 8, 2022, Marina signed a memorandum of agreement with the French Embassy in Manila that will strengthen maritime safety and security in the country by providing technical assistance, training and consultancy service to the Marina shipbuilding and ship repair. The meeting on January 26 was organized by Marina’s Shipyards Regulation Service (SRS) and presided over by SRS director Ramon Hernandez. The Philippines has further enhanced the development of its shipbuilding and ship repair (SBSR) industry through its partnership with South Korean and French maritime experts, the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) told a hybrid meeting with officials of the country’s Marina-accredited maritime companies. ![]() SBSR technical experts in a meeting with Marina updated participants on the accredited maritime companies’ contributions to research and development activities relating to naval architecture and shipbuilding.Maritime Industry Authority says its partnership with South Korean and French maritime experts has further improved the development of shipbuilding and ship repair industry. ![]()
